Their 100+ strong team includes ecologists, botanists, archaeologists, environmental scientists and project managers.The roleDue to continued growth, Niche are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Senior or Associate level Ecologist to deliver diverse and interesting projects and mentor junior and mid-level consultants.
In this role, you will hit the ground running to work with a long-established and highly supportive ecology team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple proposals and projects of moderately complex level and value.
Efficient and effective project management, compliance, technical quality, and delivery are key focus areas of this position.Key responsibilities will include:Manage consulting projects and clients with a high level of professionalism and technical expertise.Effective and timely liaison with clients, regulators and sub-contractors.Managing legislative issues for clients and maintaining an awareness of how legislation impacts projects.Effective management of project budgets within the boundaries of each individual project.Engage clients, design tailored methodologies and create proposals by collaborating internally on resources and costing.Manage timelines, risks, and budgets; maintain clear communication with stakeholders.Foster interactions with industry, government, community groups and technical experts.Participate in ecological field assessments and surveys as required.About youWith a demonstrated track record of success in a consulting environment, you will have a thorough knowledge of the identification, ecology, and habitat requirements of flora and fauna within NSW.You will possess:Relevant tertiary qualifications; in ecology, biology, environmental science, environmental management, or similar.At least 4 years experience in a similar consulting role.Strong project management experience.Extensive experience undertaking ecological survey, and flora and/or fauna identification in the communities of NSW.An existing Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM) accreditation, or the desire and capacity to become BAM accredited based on your existing experience.Experience in preparing ecological reports such as impact assessments.Offsetting skills such as experience with TFD calculations, offset strategies, BSSARs, monitoring reports and management plans, preferred.Valid drivers license and willing to travel NSW for project/fieldwork.First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain).
