We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to oversee and maintain compliance standards across our bonded freight forwarding warehouse operations. This role is critical in ensuring we meet all Customs, Border Force (ABF), Biosecurity, and JAS internal compliance requirements, while supporting operational efficiency and minimising risk.
You will work closely with warehouse, customs, transport, and management teams to maintain the integrity of our bonded facility, uphold regulatory obligations, and drive continuous improvement across compliance processes.
Responsibilities
* Monitor and manage movement, storage, and documentation of bonded cargo.

* Conduct routine audits of warehouse inventory, systems, and physical cargo to ensure accuracy and traceability.
* Assist with preparation for ABF visits, inspections, and licence audits.
* Review and action any non-conformances or breaches.
* Monitor operational workflows to ensure process alignment with JAS policies and regulatory requirements.
* Ensure ongoing compliance with Australian Border Force (ABF) regulations, including bonded warehouse licence requirements and reporting obligations.
* Identify compliance risks and implement corrective and preventative actions.
* Lead training for staff on compliance requirements, bonded processes, and regulatory updates.
* Partner with management to improve operational controls, reduce compliance breaches, and drive efficiency.

* Regularly audit company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risks.
* Assess company operations to determine compliance risk.
* Ensure all employees are educated on the latest regulations and processes.
* Resolve employee concerns about legal compliance
Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years' experience in compliance, bonded warehouse operations, or freight forwarding.
* Strong knowledge of ABF bonded warehouse regulations and ICS/Cargo reporting systems.
* Understanding of biosecurity requirements and relevant legislation.
* Brilliant oral and written communication skills.
* Highly-analytical with strong attention to detail.
