Route Planner – Step Up and Drive Operational Excellence Across Sydney & NSW
Are you an experienced fleet controller or route planner looking to take the next step in your career?
Shred-X, part of the Freightways Group – one of Australasia's largest logistics and information management organisations – is offering an exciting opportunity for a Route Planner to play a key role in supporting daily transport operations, enabling our drivers, and ensuring efficient, safe, and customer-focused service delivery across Sydney and NSW.
This role is ideal for someone with strong geographical knowledge, operational insight, and a passion for keeping logistics running smoothly.
What you'll do
* Provide hands‐on operational support to transport and logistics teams
* Plan, manage, and optimise delivery routes across Sydney Metro and NSW regions
* Coordinate with factory leadership regarding equipment requirements and driver needs
* Maintain a fleet issues log, including emergency kits, spill kits, first aid kits, and fire extinguishers
* Support driver inductions, onboarding, and online training programs
* Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for managing jobs within logistics and CRM systems
* Manage customer relations, including issue handling and dispute resolution
* Ensure compliance with safety standards, people, equipment, and regulatory requirements
* Proactively identify operational issues and support continuous improvement initiatives
What we're looking for
* Strong geographical knowledge of Sydney and NSW
* Experience in logistics, transport coordination, or operational support roles
* Solid understanding of transport safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements
* Confident using logistics systems and CRM platforms
* Strong problem‐solving, organisational, and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‐paced environment
* Previous Sydney Metro driving experience will be highly regarded
