The first position is a Permanent Full-Time role, and the second is a Temporary Part-Time role (Thursdays and Fridays). Both roles offer an exciting opportunity to support our high-performing science department and contribute to student learning outcomes. The Temporary position is being offered in a Part-Time capacity (0.40FTE), 29 hours per fortnight. This is a progressional position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of both classification ranges. About The Role As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the effective and efficient operation of our science department. Reporting to the Principal or a nominated delegate, you will work independently to provide technical and administrative support to teachers and laboratory staff. Key Responsibilities Include Preparing, distributing, and setting up scientific materials, equipment, and chemical solutions for practical teaching and laboratory use. Maintaining a safe and organised laboratory environment, including waste disposal and equipment calibration. Providing quality advice and support to teaching staff on practical work and STEM initiatives. Assisting with field trip preparations, inventory management, and budget administration for the science department. Networking with external organisations and maintaining laboratory protocols and records.
