Are you passionate about creating delicious and authentic Punjabi cuisine? Do you have a minimum of 12 months experience as a Chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment? Punjabi Palace Cairns Restaurant is seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our team on a full time basis.
As a Chef at Punjabi Palace Cairns Restaurant, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of traditional Indian dishes, ensuring that they are of the highest quality and presentation. You will work closely with our manager to develop and maintain our menu, while also managing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of Punjabi dishes according to menu specifications and standards
- Ensure that all dishes are consistently of high quality and presentation
- Manage and maintain inventory levels of all kitchen supplies and ingredients
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective operations
- Develop and maintain menu items with to meet customer preferences and market trends
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen at all times
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient service
Requirements:
- Minimum of 12 months experience as a Chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or above
- Passion for Indian cuisine and willingness to learn and develop new dishes
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
