About Byron GymBYRON GYM is a well established fitness facility in Byron Bay, Northern NSW.
It has been operating since the 90s and is the largest gym in the area, part of a group of gyms in the Byron Shire.
The facility provides full access, an extensive group fitness timetable and infra-red saunas.

Other gyms, Bangalow gym and Bruns Gym, allow members to have multi-access across the shire.The OpportunityAs Gym Assistant Manager your primary aim is to increase membership numbers across the business, maintain 100% commitment towards outstanding customer service, maintain excellent reach out with all social media platforms, drive member retention, manage staff and contractors, and ensure customer satisfaction.
You will work closely with and take direction from the Club Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the day-to-day operations of the club to ensure a high level of customer service, satisfaction, cleanliness and equipment maintenance.Focus on member retention and increasing member sales in the club to meet monthly sales targets.Demonstrate outstanding communication and leadership skills.Show professionalism, respect, courtesy and support.Build a great team culture and club workplace promoting community and inclusiveness.Lead in the delivery of exceptional member experiences and timely resolutions.Recruitment, training and retention of staff members.Contribute to weekly managers meetings; organise and run monthly staff meetings to foster communication and team building.Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention of staff members.Oversee staff rostering to ensure adequate staff coverage during club operating hours and approve leave.Proficient knowledge of software systems including Clubware, Debit Success & Gym Sales to ensure internal communications and procedures are met.Oversee internal and external marketing to align with the gym group's Social Media strategy.Statistical reporting and analysis of net membership movement.Ensure the gym workplace maintains ongoing standards for cleanliness, maintenance and OH&S.This; is a permanent full-time position offering 37.5 hours per week, including evenings.Work with the Operations Manager for training and support.Skills & QualificationsCertificate 3 in Fitness or willingness to obtainFirst Aid and CPR (or higher) or willingness to obtainPolice/Working with Children check/Blue Card or willingness to obtainExperience working within the Fitness IndustryMinimum 1-2 years of fitness industry experienceProven track record for reaching sales targetsKnowledge and competency in gym software and ability to learn new systemsPermanent residency status in Australia is required for this positionAbout YouLeadership experience managing a team in a high-volume and fast-paced setting, ideally within the fitness industryA minimum of 6-12 months of team management experience in a high-volume and fast-paced environment is requiredPassionate about fitness and have a genuine care for your members and helping them achieve health and fitness goalsAble to demonstrate proven sales and customer service experience with the ability to hit KPIsUnderstanding of customer retention strategies is highly regardedExceptional verbal, written and time management skillsPeople-focused with a priority on member relationships and building a positive gym communityPositive attitude towards work, life and the gym environmentHighly organised with strong organizational skillsExperience in creating and promoting a positive fitness facility cultureExperience in human resource practicesSound understanding of work health and safety requirements is desirableReliable, proactive, punctual, professional and well-presentedWe Offer YouA career in the fitness industry connected to the Brunswick Heads community; daily actions inspire others and impact health and well-beingA total remuneration range of $60,000 - $80,000 OTE (base salary plus commission), including superOngoing training and support in sales & leadership skillsA complimentary gym membership across all three clubsA future career pathway within the gym group
