The Randall Wine Group has significant vineyard holdings across most growing regions in South Australia, in addition to a number of wineries. The largest producer of luxury bulk wine, we are also famous for our premium fine wine brands - Seppeltsfield in the Barossa as well as Penny's Hill Wines and Gemtree Wines in McLaren Vale.
We are pleased to be able to offer the opportunity for a number of Cellar Hands to join our talented winemakers and experienced cellar teams at any of our three wineries based in McLaren Vale: Tinlins, Ryecroft and Boars Rock.
We have a number of positions, permanent and casual, working full time Monday-Friday outside of vintage, and across a 7 day a week roster during vintage.
About the Position
Reporting to the Cellar Manager and Winemaking Teams, a range of tasks for the position may include but not limited to:
* Fruit receival and crushing operations
* Operate press equipment
* Operate and monitor pumps to perform rackings, transfers, blending and ferment management, including the use of valves, dip tapes and flowmeters
* Accurately carry out cellar note instructions and follow standard operating procedures
* Basic administrative duties including filling out work notes, despatch paperwork and basic computer work, requiring accuracy and attention to detail
* Juice and wine additions, including the accurate weighing and preparation of additions
* Cleaning tasks, including the cleaning of tanks, hoses, fixed lines, equipment and floors/drains
* Barrel work
* Use of centrifuge and filtration equipment
* Product despatch including the loading of domestic tankers and filling of containers (both small format and export)
* Wine work will involve the handling of all wine styles: dry white, rose, dry red and juice
About You
The successful applicant will require:
* Prior experience working in a busy cellar
* Proven experience with Winery machinery operation
* Experience with centrifuge and filtration equipment highly regarded
* The ability to meet the physical requirements of the job (lifting/moving hoses, pumps and other equipment)
* Experience of working autonomously and within teams
* An understanding of the winemaking process
* Punctuality, good communication and ability to learn new skills
* Attention to detail and a strong work ethic
* A willingness to learn and grow in the role
* Current Drivers Licence
* Current Forklift License and HR Truck License – desirable but not essential
Remuneration will be commensurate to experience and governed by the Wine Industry Award. As a part of this role - Wine allowance, work boots, training and development are provided.
