**Job Description:**
The Behavioural Analysis Team assesses and manages risk to the public from violent criminality and violent extremism. The team provides expert advice and develops technical solutions to drive prevention and disruption efforts. A Forensic Risk Analyst applies specialist knowledge, skills, and experience in human psychology and behaviour in support of security risk assessment, management, and mitigation within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
* Apply risk assessment methodology to initial assessment, prioritisation & ongoing monitoring of individuals within the national security environment.
* Provide reports based on assessments to contribute to interventions and the management of individuals who may be a risk to the community.
* Provide evidence-based advice in support of security intelligence and investigative operations based on sound theory and practice.
* Foster a multi-disciplinary approach to security intelligence and investigative operations through the development and maintenance of inter-disciplinary and inter-agency networks and liaison.
* Contribute to education and training of stakeholders in understanding forensic behavioural theories and practice.
* Undertake continuous clinical education and training as part of an ongoing individual professional development plan.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Registration as a psychologist with AHPRA.
* Possession of postgraduate qualifications (or significant progress towards postgraduate qualifications) in the relevant area.
* Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain an NVL1 security classification. Note: This position requires Australian Citizenship.
* Possession of a current C class driver's licence.
* Prior to appointment, the successful applicant will be required to undergo a psychometric assessment.
