This is a 15month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 4, 2025 with possible extension and/or permanency

Note: This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. The Role

Roebourne DHS is seeking a committed and capable educator to join our team as a Literacy and Numeracy Intervention Teacher, supporting both primary and secondary students through small group teaching. This position is well suited to a primary-trained teacher with strong Literacy and Numeracy pedagogy, who is confident working across different age groups and willing to adapt their approach to meet diverse student needs. This position plays a vital role in strengthening foundational skills across the school and includes targeted support for senior students working towards Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA) achievement.

The successful applicant will ideally:

Deliver structured, small group intervention in Literacy and Numeracy across primary and secondary years. Provide targeted support for senior students (Years 10–12) preparing for OLNA, with a focus on skill mastery, confidence, and readiness for post-school pathways. Deliver literacy and numeracy support aligned to the WA Curriculum and OLNA standards. Use diagnostic and formative assessments to monitor progress and tailor instruction. Plan and report using Special Education Needs (SEN) Reporting to Parents and regularly communicates student progress to families. Build positive, respectful relationships with students to support both learning and engagement strategies.

We are looking for someone who:

Has a strong understanding of literacy and numeracy acquisition and development. Experience with MultiLit program delivery or a willingness to be trained. Has experience in working in remote or regional education contexts. Utilises effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with classroom teachers and support staff to align strategies and ensure consistent support. Understands the importance of culturally responsive practice and relational learning. Support students’ wellbeing and engagement through consistent, respectful, and strengths-based teaching. Brings initiative, flexibility, and a problem-solving mindset to their teaching.

Teachers and School Administrators employed at Roebourne District high School in 2025 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $1,170 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
