The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to partner with our client to drive solutions that provide the energy, chemicals and resources that society needs now.
Responsibilities You will be supporting a team of engineers and designer to delivery civil design of open and closed drainage structures, retaining walls, laydown and hardstands, underground drainage network and general civil design around processing plant.
Be responsible for the technical delivery all civil elements that is supported by calculation packages.
Perform supporting tasks such as : Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures;
Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes;
Provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
For example, write requisitions, conduct technical bid evaluations and write purchase orders.
Scope management relating to the civil design;
Technical supervision of inexperience engineers;
Cross disciplinary coordination to ensure successful delivery of Customer's requirements
Communicate effectively with the structural engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer.
About YOU Bachelor of Civil Engineering or relevant undergraduate degree with extensive experience in civil engineering design in the mining, energy and / or infrastructure sector and previous experience in either heavy industrial or petrochemical plant projects is not essential but advantageous.
Leadership in mining or fuels projects
Experience with managing drainage / effluent system in petrochemical and exposure to petrochemical facilities is desirable.
Familiarity with software such as Micro Station and Auto CAD and with bulk earthworks design, drainage and heavy pavement design.
Worked with team with diverse background and proven experience in managing a project team and should be highly focused on delivery and service.
Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work toits customers.
A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
Experience in using of various civil engineering specific software, proficient use of civil engineering specific software and exposure to MWRA design standards is desirable.
Experience in delivering complex civil engineering project experience in working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
