The successful applicant will ideally display knowledge and application of the Abilities Based Learning and Education WA (ABLEWA) curriculum, with the capacity to design and implement highly individualised learning programs that cater for students with a wide range of academic, communication, social-emotional, independence and behaviour needs.The successful teacher would have experience in developing, monitoring and reviewing Special Educational Needs (SEN) documented plans, ensuring that student goals are targeted, purposeful and achievable.
They should use a range of assessment tools, including ABLEWA progressions, to monitor student growth, provide targeted feedback, and inform future planning.
A strong understanding of effective pedagogy to support differentiated teaching in literacy, numeracy, life skills and functional learning contexts is essential.A high level of interpersonal and communication skills is also important, with the ability to build positive, respectful relationships with students, colleagues, parents and external providers.
The successful applicant will ideally be committed to fostering inclusive learning environments where every student is supported to achieve their potential.It is highly desirable that applicants have prior experience working in an Education Support setting and can display the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
