We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Carers to join our Memory Support Unit, providing high-quality care and assistance to residents living with cognitive impairments. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced carers looking to progress their career in aged care while receiving dementia-specific education and training.
As a Carer at Goodwin, you will be part of a multi-skilled team responsible for delivering personal care, support, and engagement activities that enhance the wellbeing and quality of life of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide quality personal care and support to residents in line with individual care plans.
* Assist residents with daily living tasks to maintain dignity, safety, and comfort.
* Support residents through meaningful engagement and activities designed to promote wellbeing.
* Report incidents or changes in residents' condition to the Team Leader or management.
* Comply with Goodwin's policies, procedures, and Work Health & Safety standards.
* Uphold Goodwin's values and commitment to excellence in care and customer service.
Training and Development
As part of this role, you will have access to:
* Medication Competency Training
* Dementia-specific training, both internally and through external providers such as Dementia Services Australia, focusing on clinical understanding and lifestyle/activity engagement.
About You
* Experience in providing care and support to older people (experience in a memory support environment is desirable but not essential).
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with empathy and respect.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work all shifts (AM, PM, and Nights), with an initial focus on AM and PM shifts.
* Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
Qualifications (Desirable)
* Certificate III or IV in Aged Care or Community Care.
* Medication Assist qualification (or willingness to undertake training).
