What You'll Be Doing
We are seeking a Server and Data Centre Engineer to work within our project team for a key client in the resources sector. You will work on varied and interesting ICT infrastructure projects, starting from project inception, through solution design and implementation, and then handing over to the operational team. This role will be predominantly office‐based project work in Brisbane, with occasional interstate travel.
Responsibilities
* Design, deployment and configuration of client/server and data centre infrastructure including physical and virtual compute, storage, cloud, backup, security, etc.
* Patching and upgrading supported systems in line with policy
* Provide technology leadership across on‐premise and cloud workload planning and strategy
* Assess existing infrastructure to evaluate lifecycle, performance or configuration, and provide guidance and recommendations for optimisation or remediation of issues
* Contribute to high‐level and low‐level designs and roadmaps within specialised knowledge domains
* Produce and maintain technical documentation, reports, and records regarding infrastructure solutions
* Provide technical support, troubleshooting and fault rectification of technical issues related to supported infrastructure and applications
* Conduct acceptance tests and commissioning of systems and applications
* Work with suppliers/carriers/vendors as required to identify and resolve technical issues
* Maintain a high degree of professionalism and accuracy to ensure projects are delivered to a high quality within the specified time constraints
Working Conditions
* Predominantly office‐based in Brisbane
* Permanent full time
* Occasional interstate travel
* Medical may be required for site access
Qualifications
* Relevant vendor certifications (e.g. Microsoft, VMWare, Dell EMC)
* Mining or similar heavy industrial experience
* Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation
* Experience with data protection technologies such as Veeam, CommVault, etc.
* Experience in outsourced delivery environments
* Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent
