About the role
We are seeking both Personal & Domestic Care Assistants who are committed to ensuring the highest possible standard of in-home care for our valued clients.
As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA), you will be:
Providing personal care and assistance with hygiene, toileting, bathing, grooming and other ADL activities
Assisting clients with mobility and transfers, along with other activities to help maintain an independent lifestyle
Assisting clients with general housekeeping duties i.e. cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, dusting as prescribed in the clients' care plans
Providing social support activities which may include driving clients to appointments and assorted locations
Recognising and responding to change in a client's condition, as well as documenting and communicating this information as required
Ensuring clients are treated with dignity and respect and supported to exercise choice and independence
As a Domestic Care Assistant (DCA), you will be:
Assisting clients with general housekeeping duties i.e. cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, dusting as prescribed in the client's care plan
Assisting our clients with food preparation and cooking of meals
Shopping for basic groceries on behalf of the client where requested
Providing social support activities which may include driving clients to appointments and assorted locations
Ensuring the client's home is hygienic and a safe environment that supports the promotion of independence
Recognising and responding to changes in a clients' condition, as well as documenting and communicating this information as required
Other things you might like to know:
You will be required to use your private vehicle for work purposes, with kilometre-reimbursement offered
PCA hourly rate: $***** p/h + 25% casual loading
DCA hourly rate: $***** - $***** p/h + casual loading
What skills and experience do you need to be a PCA or DCA?
PCA ONLY: Minimum Certificate III qualification i.e. Individual Support, Aged Care, Community Services
PCA ONLY: Preferably 12 months experience working in the Home Care sector, particularly with Home Care Packages and CHSP funded care services
Willingness to embrace domestic / housekeeping duties as part of your role. It is preferable for you to have experience in professional cleaning duties, but not mandatory
Genuine empathy with elderly clients and a passion to work within the community service industry
The commitment to represent Comlink Australia with pride and help make lives better
Understanding of specialised service delivery within diverse groups, specifically Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, Veterans, Disability, Mental Health, LGBTI+ and Homelessness
