Synergie Australia is seeking a Survey Officer (Scientific Assistant – Recreational Fishing) for a Government Department located in Gladstone.
The important parts:
• 4 shifts per month (Friday, weekend, and one weekday) – approx. 16–20 hours per month
• Hourly pay rate + superannuation
• Immediate start – flexible and rewarding role
What you will be required to do:
This position plays a key role in supporting recreational fishing research and data collection in Queensland.
• Visit local boat ramps in Gladstone.
• Interview recreational fishers using a set survey script
• Identify, count, and measure fish species
• Record and submit accurate data promptly
• Provide information and answer questions from the public using supplied resources
To be successful in the role you will:
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrate attention to detail for accurate data collection
• Bring basic knowledge of fishing and fish species ( essential)
• Have full working rights in Australia
• Have access to reliable transport to attend boat ramps
• Demonstrate a positive attitude towards safety and its importance in every role
