Overview
We are seeking a new member to join the Carbon team as a Junior Receptionist. You will be the first friendly face clients see when they visit our office, helping keep the wheels turning and supporting daily office operations.
About Carbon
We’re not your average professional services firm. Carbon launched in 2014 with the goal to shake up the industry and change the level of service that small and medium business owners receive. We combine core business services in one place (from accounting to bookkeeping to finance to insurance and everything in between), bringing together experts so clients can focus on what they love.
Our Carbonites are our best asset. We’ve grown from 13 people in a single Perth office to over 300 nationwide. This role offers opportunities to learn, grow, and engage with teams across offices and levels.
Empowering our Carbonites is a big part of our mission and vision, so we focus on helping our people learn and develop their careers in directions they want to go.
About the role
Without a Junior Receptionist to help keep the wheels turning, the office would be incomplete. You’ll need to demonstrate great customer service skills and communication, and be comfortable with various technologies such as phone systems, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and more. You should be organized and have strong time management to keep the ship on track. You’ll also help organise team activities and events. If you have event coordination experience, that is a bonus, but not required as we can support you along the way. Our receptionists wear many hats, so please highlight your skills and experience in your cover letter and tell us about you in a unique way.
Job Requirements
We’re looking for someone with:
- Experienced with customer interaction and eager to expand into the corporate world.
- Experience in a busy reception position (desirable but not essential).
- Previous experience handling phone calls.
- Bubbly, friendly and positive disposition.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work autonomously and in a busy and fast paced environment.
Job Responsibilities
Your daily activities will include (but aren’t limited to):
- Greeting clients.
- Answering and directing phone calls.
- Organising beverages for client meetings.
- Booking calendar appointments.
- Ordering and stock control.
- Petty cash reconciliation.
- General office maintenance.
Your fit for the role
- You love a bit of team banter and activities
- You want to be part of the coolest firm in Australia
- You’re keen to join a company that encourages you to define your own career path
Job Perks
We aspire to create a culture in every office where our people are motivated and supported to achieve their goals. Here are some benefits we offer:
- Learning and development opportunities driven by you: internal and external training options.
- Social activities to suit different people: regular team events, office events, community giveback opportunities, etc.
- Discounts, cashbacks, rewards, and wellness initiatives.
Ready to Apply?
We’d love to hear from you. While the skills and experience listed are important, you don’t need to tick every box to apply. We are committed to building a diverse, inclusive team, so even if your past experience doesn’t perfectly align, apply anyway.
- Send through your resume
- Include a cover letter (creative is welcome but not required)
- Share what motivates you and what you are passionate about
At Carbon, we look out for one another; we prioritise respect, fairness, development and wellbeing; foster an inclusive culture and embrace diversity.
