Overview
Palm Lake Resort Toowoomba is seeking a talented and passionate Cook/Chef to join our elite team. This is a Permanent Part-time position offering 30 hours per week, with a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday roster. You will provide meal services to our residents in on-site kitchen facilities as part of a small team.
This role is ideal for a cook experienced in preparing wholesome family meals and dessert-style menus, with a commitment to the preparation and presentation of meals that meet residents' expectations. The position also involves baking cakes, desserts and muffin-like treats.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook and serve food with a strong focus on food safety standards; including lunch, dinner and desserts.
- Maintain stock control, ordering and receiving stock.
- Contribute to menu design and implementation.
- Clean and maintain kitchen facilities to the highest standards.
Qualifications
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or relevant trade qualifications or equivalent skills from previous experience (essential).
- Current Food Supervisor Certificate (essential).
- Relevant experience in the full process including food preparation, baking and serving for relevant numbers.
- Experience maintaining high standards of cleanliness and Food HACCP protocols.
- The drive and motivation to provide outstanding food quality while balancing dietary requirements.
- Personal high standard of presentation, hygiene and grooming.
- Previous experience working in a high-order kitchen.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
