About the Role
As a Draftsperson / Building Designer, you will play a crucial role in creating exceptional customer experiences. You'll be involved from the initial concept design stage, working closely with our customers and New Homes Consultants to modify existing G.J. Gardner plans. Your expertise will be key in developing pragmatic designs that balance aesthetic appeal with construction costs.
You'll be a vital part of the sales process, helping us provide a great customer experience with quick turnaround times. Your responsibilities will also extend to preparing detailed working drawings.
This role is based in our Wantirna South office. You'll enjoy a healthy work-life balance with standard weekday hours, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with New Homes Consultants and customers on initial concept designs.
* Modify existing G.J. Gardner plans to meet customer needs.
* Develop pragmatic designs that are both visually appealing and cost-effective.
* Prepare comprehensive and accurate working drawings.
* Utilise CAD software to create detailed designs and 3D renderings.
* Maintain open and effective communication with colleagues and customers.

About You
Prior Experience: You have proven experience as a Draftsperson or Building Designer in residential homes. Ideally, you have experience with custom designs and trickier sites, such as sloping blocks.
Pragmatic Designer: You have a keen eye for design and a solid understanding of construction costs.
Tech Savvy: You are proficient in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or ArchiCAD. Experience with 3D rendering software like Twinmotion is highly regarded.
Excellent Communicator: You have strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure clear and effective interactions with customers and colleagues.
Proactive & Organised: You are a self-starter who can manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Growth Mindset: You are eager to learn, adapt, and refine your skills.
