About the Role
Queensland Surveying Solutions Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Survey Draftsperson to join our team in Brisbane and South East Queensland. This is a full-time position based at our Brisbane office.
Australian work rights are legally required for this position.
QSS is a reputable surveying firm with over 30 years of industry experience. We are expanding our team and seeking a skilled Survey Draftsperson to assist in the preparation of plans and calculations for our surveyors. With a strong focus on land development and residential building sectors, we take pride in delivering top-quality surveying services, ensuring our clients' projects are executed accurately and efficiently.
We are looking for a Draftsperson dedicated to precision and accuracy who thrives in a dynamic environment where your skills are valued and your growth is encouraged.
The successful candidate will report to the Cadastral Survey Manager and support other senior staff. You will be primarily engaged in Cadastral and Mapping Drafting, As-Constructed Drafting, and ADAC Reporting.
This role is ideal for an experienced drafter or an individual looking to gain valuable industry knowledge. We highly value survey drafting experience.
Remuneration and package are negotiable based on experience and qualifications. While this is ideally a full-time in-house position, consideration for part-time and hybrid work arrangements can be tailored to meet the successful candidate's needs.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Survey Drafter, you will be responsible for creating detailed and accurate survey plans essential for land development and construction projects. You will collaborate closely with surveyors and project managers to interpret data and ensure compliance with relevant standards, while also managing the preparation of cadastral plans, As-Constructed Plans and ADAC reporting.
Attention to detail will be critical as you maintain high-quality standards and adapt to changing project requirements, all while supporting a dynamic and efficient workflow within the team.
We are looking for highly motivated applicants with a willingness to learn. The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively is essential.
While experience as a survey drafter is desirable, training will be provided to the successful candidate to meet role expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cadastral drafting to produce survey plans, proposals, and town planning documents.
* Create accurate and detailed survey plans using CAD software.
* Manage ADAC processing, reporting, and delivery.
* Maintain and audit relevant work systems for compliance related to drafting and ADAC.
* Uphold high standards of quality and accuracy in all drafting work.
* Adapt to changing priorities and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Liaising with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality survey services
* Ensuring all work complies with relevant standards and regulations
* Contributing to the continuous improvement of our surveying processes and procedures
What We're Looking For
(candidates strong in some of these categories will be highly regarded)
* Minimum 6 months of cadastral drafting experience required.
* Proficiency in either SurvaCAD or BricsCAD/AutoCAD is acceptable.
* Experience with 12D Model is highly regarded.
* Ability to prepare ADAC data sets and As-Constructed Plans.
* Experience in civil construction, land development, or residential industries is an advantage.
* Any broad surveying industry experience is beneficial.
* Ability to liaise with customers to address any drafting-related queries or concerns.
* Tertiary qualification in Drafting, Surveying or Geospatial Science
* Preferred years experience as a Survey draftsperson
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
