About the Role
The Deputy Team Leader will provide technical and administrative leadership to the Climate Resilient Communities Support Unit (CRCSU) and manage resources to ensure efficient and value for money delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Supporting the Contractor Representative and Team Leader in delivering the CRCSU as a high-performing support unit.
2. Facilitating coordination between program units to ensure efficient and effective implementation of CRCSU, including drafting and coordinating deliverables.
3. Coordinating reviews and approvals to ensure quality assurance and providing informed advice to the Team Leader on decision-making.
4. Overseeing the establishment and implementation of selected CRCSU coordination systems and processes, including acting as Product Owner for the Management Information System (MIS).
5. Ensuring enhanced, consistent, and coherent approaches to development priorities are incorporated into CRCSU's advice, processes, decisions, and activities.
6. Overseeing the CRCSU Ways of Working with DFAT process during inception and annual health checks to establish a shared understanding of priorities, governance mechanisms, timeframes, expectations, and accountabilities.
7. Ensuring all program deliverables, reports, and costed annual plans are developed and produced to an exceptional standard and submitted on schedule.
For this role, you will require:
* An established career in international development with a proven track record in delivering results.
* Deep knowledge of and significant experience in senior leadership roles on international development programs, preferably as a team leader, deputy team leader, contractor representative, or senior executive.
* Demonstrated experience in team leadership and management, including developing strong team culture, planning, budgeting, financial management, performance, and risk management on international development programs.
* Experience in overseeing monitoring and evaluation, research, and learning processes to ensure quality and improve program performance.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including conveying complex information to non-experts.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to cultivate and maintain productive working relationships across geographically dispersed teams, particularly in complex cross-cultural operating environments.
* Tertiary qualifications in international development, international relations, public policy, or similar preferred.
