Assistant Laundry Manager – Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Port Douglas
Join the team at Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Port Douglas as our Assistant Laundry Manager, supporting the daily operations of our busy Laundry Department and ensuring exceptional quality for our guests.
About the Role
You'll oversee day-to-day laundry and valet operations, lead and support the team, manage stock levels, ensure machinery safety, and maintain productivity standards. You'll also step up for the Laundry/Housekeeping Manager as required and help deliver consistent, high-quality linen and uniform services across the resort.
What You'll Do
* Supervise and support Laundry Attendants across all areas of the department
* Maintain safe, efficient operation of all machinery and equipment
* Monitor productivity, KPIs, stock levels and chemical usage
* Coordinate rostering, task allocation, handovers and team briefings
* Resolve guest or internal department requests promptly and professionally
* Ensure compliance with WHS, hygiene standards and resort policies
* Assist with training, development and performance support for the team
* Uphold Marriott service standards and contribute to a positive team culture
About You
* Experience in a laundry, housekeeping or similar supervisory role (hotel experience highly regarded)
* Strong communication and leadership skills
* Ability to work across all laundry functions and train others
* Good computer skills and understanding of productivity or reporting systems
* Physically capable of performing laundry duties (lifting, bending, pushing trolleys)
* Commitment to safety, quality and exceptional service
