The Role
Healthcare Logistics (HCL) is seeking a hands-onWHS & Facilities Specialistto lead safety and site maintenance at our state-of-the-art site.
In this newly created role, you will drive a proactive safety culture and ensure our distribution centre remains a benchmark for operational excellence.
We are looking for a leader with a strong background in machinery and warehousing who understands the practical risks of a high-volume site and possesses the administrative discipline to manage complex compliance requirements.
What you will do:
MHE & Facility Readiness:Oversee the maintenance and operational readiness of all materials handling equipment (MHE).
Implement preventative schedules to minimise downtime and extend asset life spans;
WHS & Risk Leadership:Lead a proactive safety culture by conducting regular risk assessments and maintaining up-to-date risk registers.
Identify and mitigate warehouse-specific hazards, such as forklift zones and manual handling.
Compliance & QA Support:Support Quality Assurance with non-conformance investigations.
Ensure the site meets strict cGMP (PIC/S)and ISO ********** standards;
Budget & Contractor Management:Manage dedicated facilities and WHS budgets while coordinating external contractors for specialised repairs, audits, and site improvements;
Mentor & Train:Oversee site inductions and team training programs.
Ensure all safety and training records are meticulous and ready for internal or external audits;
Injury Management:Support the Return-to-Work Manager and warehouse team in creating effective plans for injured staff.
What we are looking for:
Practical Machinery Background:You have a hands-on history with industrial equipment.
You know how machinery functions, making you a more effective risk manager;
Warehouse Expertise:Background in logistics or 3PL, as well as leadership experience.
You understand high-velocity distribution dynamics;
Admin Expertise:Advanced MS Office skills and hands-on experience with integrated ERP/WMS environments.
You pride yourself on accurate maintenance logs and scheduling;
Strong Commercial Acumen:Ability to manage costs and optimise facilities for both safety and performance;
Qualifications:Tertiary qualifications in Logistics, Engineering, or Business are preferred;
Digital Proficiency:Advanced MS Office skills and hands-on experience with integrated ERPs and RF technology;
Commercial Acumen:Ability to manage maintenance budgets and optimise facilities for cost-effectiveness.
