This is a 12 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, ****.
Balcatta Senior High School (SHS) is situated in the northern suburbs of Perth.

The Role
We are seeking a friendly and committed Youth Engagement and Support Worker to join our team.
As a Youth Engagement and Support Worker, you will:
Assist students and staff in identifying and responding to the additional needs of students.
Work in partnership with key service providers to coordinate and deliver activities that support and engage students at risk, including individual and small group interventions.
Undertake administrative tasks such as data entry, report writing, meeting minutes and management of student case notes.
Demonstrate knowledge or experience with high-school procedures and processes (preferred).
The successful applicant will ideally have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to establish effective working relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds, and will be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of the Student Services Team without direct supervision.
A proactive attitude and the ability to seek and receive feedback are highly desirable.

Eligibility
Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start.
Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.

Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish effective working relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
Demonstrated negotiation, mediation and conflict resolution skills with relevant experience working with students who require support.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team without direct supervision.
Demonstrated effective planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities within timelines.
