Your new role
We are seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to lead initiatives that optimise processes within our distribution centre and warehouse operations. This role will focus on driving efficiency, reducing waste, and implementing best practices to enhance productivity and service levels. You will play a key role in strategic projects that shape the future of our operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and implement process improvement opportunities across warehouse and logistics operations.
* Lead Lean and Six Sigma projects, applying tools such as DMAIC, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve workflow, inventory management, and material handling processes.
* Lead strategic projects involving the relocation of key business operations from the existing warehouse/DC to new facilities, ensuring seamless continuity and minimal operational impact.
* Develop and implement optimised warehouse layouts, including racking system design, to maximise space utilisation, improve material flow, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
* Manage the end-to-end transition between Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ensuring robust planning, data integrity, and smooth integration with minimal disruption to business operations.
* Monitor and report on KPIs such as order accuracy, cycle time, and throughput.
* Support automation and digital solutions for warehouse optimisation.
* Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational best practices.
* Train and mentor staff on continuous improvement methodologies.
What you'll need to succeed
* Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
* Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (Black Belt preferred).
* Previous Continuous Improvement role within a distribution centre or warehouse environment.
* Proven track record of delivering measurable improvements in logistics or warehousing.
* Familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), ERP systems, and data analytics tools.
* Knowledge of automation and material handling technologies.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to influence and drive change.
