Job Description
Reporting to the Chief Project Officer/Business Head, you will:
- Lead the technical and project delivery aspects of underground coal mines under development.
- Drive feasibility studies and recommend go/no-go decisions based on geological data.
- Evaluate and select mining methodologies (Longwall & Continuous) and OEM equipment.
- Establish and monitor monthly and quarterly project milestones.
- Oversee mine readiness before handover to operations teams.
- Ensure automation and technology adoption to minimize human exposure and enhance safety.
- Develop and coach internal successors over a 3-5 year horizon.
- Collaborate with global suppliers and local teams to build globally competitive mining operations.
The Successful Applicant
- Holds a Degree in Mining Engineering/Geology; MBA preferred.
- 15-20 years of underground mining experience, with strong coal mining exposure.
- Proven expertise in Longwall and Continuous Mining methods.
- Track record of leading large, complex underground mining projects.
- Experienced in greenfield mine development, project planning, and execution.
- Strategic leader with 10+ years in senior project leadership roles.
