Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Marine Mechanical Fitter to join our DARWIN team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical systems on a variety of marine vessels.
Key Responsibilities:
* Fit, assemble, install mechanical components, piping and equipment on marine vessels
* Conduct fault-finding, repairs, and preventative maintenance on engines, pumps, valves, and propulsion systems
* Work from technical drawings, manuals and engineering specifications
* Adhere to safety and quality standards in line with marine regulations
* Collaborate with engineers, welders, and other trades as part of a multidisciplinary team
Skills and Experience:
* Minimum 2 years of experience within a marine, welding or fabrication environment.
* Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Excellent work ethic and commitment to safety
Qualifications:
* Trade Certificate in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting and Machining) or equivalent
* Current Construction White Card
* Valid C-class driver’s license
* Ability to obtain or hold a valid National Police Clearance
* Confined Space, Working at Heights or other certifications highly desirable
