The City of Melville is seeking Casual Community Safety Support Officers to provide essential behind-the-scenes support for our MelSafe operations. This dynamic operational support role sits at the centre of a 24/7 service, working closely with frontline officers, leadership and internal stakeholders to help ensure our community safety services operate smoothly and effectively.
As a Community Safety Support Officer, you will be a key point of coordination, communication and organisation for MelSafe operations. The role involves managing information, supporting daily patrol logistics, assisting with investigations, responding to customer enquiries either with the phone or through email and delivering reliable administrative support to the leadership team.

Salary: $50.03 to $53.37 per hour + 12% Super

What You'll Be Doing
* Monitoring, triaging and managing incoming customer requests, complaints and incident reports
* Reviewing infringement appeals and exercising delegated authority to uphold or withdraw infringements
* Supporting daily patrol rosters, officer movements and shift logistics using systems such as CAD
* Assisting with investigations through evidence collation, file management and record keeping
* Managing escalated customer queries and drafting professional correspondence
* Acting as a key point of contact for internal and external operational enquiries
* Liaising with frontline officers throughout the day to respond to emerging operational needs
* Maintaining accurate registers and databases, including animal registrations and impound records
*Please note, this is a casual position with hours offered in accordance with operational requirements, and no minimum weekly hours guaranteed.
What We're Looking For
* A current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain
* A current C Class Driver's Licence
* Experience in an administrative, operational support or customer service role (government, enforcement or emergency services highly regarded)
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
* High-level written and interpersonal communication skills
* Confidence using Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new systems
* Strong attention to detail and sound judgement when handling sensitive information
* Highly regarded: Knowledge of local government processes, legislation or recordkeeping requirements, experience with rostering, CAD or CRM systems, Certificate III or IV in Business Administration, Local Government, Community Safety or a related field.
