About the Firm
My client is a growing alternative law firm with offices in major cities in Australia and also in New Zealand and London. They act for leading listed and unlisted companies.
They have eliminated time sheets and billable targets and have moved to a 100% fixed fee model. They form long term relationships with clients and become their trusted advisers. They also have a non-hierarchical structure and treat their lawyers as adults. There is no requirement to come into the office a certain number of days per week, which means you can work from home as little or as much as you would like.
About the Position
My client has created a new role for an experienced litigation lawyer. In the role, you will report to a senior litigation lawyer with over 15 years of experience. You will act for financiers and recovery agents. You will work on debt recovery, asset recovery, financier disputes and general commercial litigation.
About You
You are a litigation lawyer who can work independently but also collaborate and work in a team. You will also have a friendly personality with no ego, and can work in a flat non-hierarchical structure. You also work well under pressure in a fast pace and agile environment. As well, you enjoy talking to clients and forming long term relationships with them. You are comfortable working in a law firm with no time sheets.
Qualifications
We are seeking someone with:
* 6 years of post-admission experience in commercial litigation.
* Experience in debt recovery and asset recovery.
* Experience acting for financiers and recovery agents.
* Experience conducting mediations is desirable but not essential.
