We are seeking Casual / Part Time / Full Time Security Officers to join our team at The Reef Hotel Casino, the pre-eminent centre for gaming, entertainment, food and accommodation in Cairns.
An exciting opportunity for an individual who possesses a mature & responsible outlook, excellent customer skills, and the ability to work in a close-knit team environment to join our Security Team.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain the overall security and protection of the casino/hotel Complex.
* Maintain a physical presence on the gaming floor and surrounding Complex as a deterrent to major and petty crime.
* Man all mandatory static locations as required and maintain crowd control.
* Perform duties in Security Control Room as required, once trained.
Criteria
* Prior security experience preferred, but not essential.
* Knowledge of public safety and security.
* Adaptable, energetic, and enjoys interaction with patrons.
* A high level of interpersonal, communication, and observation skills.
* Aware of surroundings, able to be patient, and remain calm in stressful situations.
* A friendly and approachable demeanor.
* Good communication skills - both written and verbal.
* High standard of personal presentation and hygiene.
* Successful applicants will undergo an initial training period.
* Punctual, reliable, and available to work a variety of day, night, and weekend shifts.
All Security employees are required to possess a current Queensland Casino Employee License, Queensland Responsible Service of Gambling (RSG) Certificate, and Queensland Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate.
License Requirement
Thisposition requires a Casino Employee Licence. If you are not an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia and over the age of 18 years, your application will not be considered for this role.
Appointment is contingent upon final license approval and individual security (probity) clearances from the Queensland Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation.
