Position Overview
The Assistant Director Governance & Compliance will provide support, information and advice to the Director Risk, Governance and Compliance on activities and functions of the Court.
Responsibilities
* Assisting with the Courts business planning process
* Assisting with the review, development and implementation of frameworks, policies, processes and procedures that are consistent with the Courts business planning requirements
* Assisting with the coordination, monitoring and reporting on governance compliance
* Assisting with the review, development and implementation of frameworks, policies, processes and procedures that are consistent with the Courts governance requirements
Major Activities
* Preparation of correspondence, submissions, briefing materials and responses for matters relating to business planning, governance and compliance.
* Coordinating the Courts public reporting requirements relating to business planning, governance and compliance
* Coordination of responses to ad hoc requests from Government and other external stakeholders relating to business planning, governance and compliance
* Have a high standard of written communication skills
* Develop and maintain internal and external relationships with stakeholders
* Be able to work in a fluid environment by remaining flexible, agile and adaptable
* Be committed to ongoing self‐improvement and professional development

Formal Qualifications
Experience in risk management, governance, compliance and/or public reporting requirements for agencies under the PGPA Act is desirable.
Tertiary qualification graduate or postgraduate in a relevant discipline and/or a professional certification is desirable.
Selection Criteria
* Demonstrated experience in governance, compliance and/or public reporting requirements for agencies under the PGPA Act, or demonstrated ability to quickly acquire such knowledge.
* Strong understanding of complexity within Commonwealth Government organisations and area‐specific policies and processes to monitor and guide on governance and compliance and influence quality outcomes.
* Demonstrated leadership and management skills including the ability to determine workflow priorities, assume responsibility for the delivery of outcomes and the development, coaching and guidance of staff.
* Highly effective communication, interpersonal, representational and negotiation skills and the demonstrated ability to prepare high quality written reports, briefs and correspondence.
* Demonstrated experience working cooperatively in a team‐based environment.
Eligibility
* Australian citizenship – the successful applicant must hold Australian citizenship.
* Security and character clearance – the successful applicant must satisfy a Police Records Check and may also be required to complete security clearances during the course of employment.
* Successful applicants engaged into the APS will be subject to a probation period.
* Interested candidates who have received a redundancy benefit from an APS agency are welcome to apply but may not be engaged until their redundancy benefit period has expired.
