About the Role
This is a key position within our organisation, responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our fleet of vehicles.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in heavy vehicle maintenance, with a strong focus on preventative measures to minimise downtime.
This role involves regular servicing, inspections, and repairs, as well as identifying and reporting potential issues before they become major problems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular scheduled servicing of our Kenworth Fleet
* Carry out inspections, oil changes, filter replacements, and brake servicing.
* Identify and report wear and tear issues before they lead to breakdowns.
* Perform minor mechanical repairs and assist with more complex repairs as required.
* Ensure service checklists and maintenance records are accurately completed.
* Keep the workshop clean, organised, and compliant with safety regulations.
Requirements:
* Trade qualifications in Automotive Mechanics (Heavy Road Transport) are essential with demonstrated work experience as a Mechanic
* Knowledge of Kenworth Trucks will be highly regarded
* Experience with the maintenance of fuel trucks and trailers is desirable
* Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining a safe working environment
* Proven track record of prioritising safety, understanding hazard identification and risk assessment processes
* A proactive approach to tasks and the ability to effectively interact with customers
