YOUR ROLE
As a Corporate Lawyer you'll join IAG's high‑performing legal team (awarded the 2022 Large Legal Team of the Year at the ACC Corporate Lawyer awards). This role will see you working closely with the business to provide corporate and commercial legal advice and champion ethical conduct and practices.
The role involves work across areas such as head‑office advisory, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, general commercial contracting and marketing, with plenty of opportunities for development. The corporate legal team works collaboratively together and establishes deep and effective relationships with business partners and stakeholders to understand their business drivers and strategic priorities.
This is a nine‑month fixed‑term contract role. Please discuss with your current manager before applying.

ABOUT YOU
Legal practice experience:
* 3+ years PQE in corporate law, head‑office advisory, mergers and acquisitions, and general commercial contracting.
* Experience in capital markets or asset management is also a plus.
Qualifications and skills:
* Highly developed legal skills (written communications, advisory, contract drafting).
* Strong stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver against tight timeframes.
* Basic understanding of general insurance and/or the broader financial services industry is a plus but not essential.
* Qualified as a legal practitioner and admitted to the appropriate professional body (e.g. Law Society of New South Wales).
