The Mental Health Ambulance and Police Project (MHAPP) clinician will provide a highly mobile, recovery orientated clinical assessment, consultancy and support to NSW Ambulance and Police managing mental health related cases in the community. They will also provide clinical leadership in the trialing of virtual assessment of consumers in the community who are geographically isolated.

The MHAPP clinician works with NSW Ambulance and Police to provide mental health triage, primary client assessment and management of complex mental health emergencies and crises at an advanced level. The position holder will be required to possess extensive knowledge of mental health disorders and demonstrated clinical practices to provide support, treatment, coordination and education to emergency services who work with consumers with complex mental and physical health needs. The position may be based in one of a number of locations for their shifts, including but not limited to Nowra and Oak Flats.

- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Relevant qualifications as a Registered Nurse with a current license to practice from the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a minimum of five years full time equivalent post registration experience and in addition who has approved post registration nursing/midwifery qualification relevant to Acute Community Mental Health or such other qualifications or experience deemed OR relevant qualifications as an Occupational Therapist currently registered with AHPRA OR a Social Worker eligible for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
