Job Title: Governance and Compliance Expert
As a seasoned professional in governance and compliance, you will be responsible for ensuring that our practice meets all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
We are seeking an individual with expertise in policy development, risk management, and compliance to join our team as a Governance and Compliance Expert. In this role, you will work closely with our leadership to strengthen our governance framework and ensure that our policies and procedures are up-to-date and effective.
* Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures that meet legal and regulatory standards.
* Monitor and advise on compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including Australian Privacy Principles, child safety and mandatory reporting requirements, health records law, and AHPRA/Psychology Board of Australia guidelines.
* Collaborate with staff to develop practical tools and frameworks for identifying, managing, and reporting risks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Policy Development and Implementation:
o Develop, review, and revise policies and procedures to ensure they are current, accurate, and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
o Implement policies and procedures across the organization.
* Compliance and Risk Management:
o Monitor and advise on compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
o Identify and mitigate risks associated with non-compliance.
* Communication and Collaboration:
o Communicate policies and procedures to staff.
o Collaborate with staff to develop practical tools and frameworks for identifying, managing, and reporting risks.
Requirements:
* Postgraduate degree in Law, Healthcare Governance, Risk Management, or a related field.
* Demonstrated experience in policy development, risk management, and compliance within healthcare, psychology, or allied health settings.
* Expertise in relevant legislation and regulations, including Australian Privacy Principles, child safety and mandatory reporting requirements, health records law, and AHPRA/Psychology Board of Australia guidelines.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate complex legal and regulatory concepts into clear, accessible policies and guidance for clinical and administrative staff.
