About the role
Located in Tallebudgera, this role involves supporting a non-verbal gentleman in his mid-20s with a Traumatic Brain Injury. Our client requires full assistance with all ADL's, behaviour management, cooking assistance and community access. The client also requires assistance with Peristeen Bowel Care, which you will receive training for. We are currently looking for staff who can work day shifts (0600-1430) afternoon shifts (1400-1900) as well as some sleepover shifts (1800-2200 & 0500-0800 next morning). Due to the nature and complexity of this clients' needs, candidates must have relevant disability experience.
Your key responsibilities
Our team is looking for a dedicated and passionate Disability Support Worker who can undertake the following key responsibilities:
* ADL's
* Manual handling (floor hoist)
* Medication administration
* Peristeen bowel care
* Behavioural management
* Food preparation
* Community access
* Companionship
About you
To join the team, we are looking for the following skills and experience:
* Previous disability experience (minimum 2 years)
* Manual handling experience (essential)
* Personal care experience
* Current First aid and CPR
* NDIS Worker Screening Card
* NDIS Orientation Module (or willing to obtain)
* Manual handling certificate (or willing to obtain at your own cost)
* Medication certificate (or willing to obtain at your own cost)
We are also looking for someone with great communication skills, who works well in a team, has a caring and supportive nature, and is client-focused.
