About the role:
The Member Relations Officer supports the State Manager to deliver member services and state activities. The role manages member enquiries, supports events, maintains relationships, provides administrative support, and works within relevant policies and legislation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, is highly organised, and wants to contribute to meaningful, member-focused work.
In this role you will:
* Remain current with knowledge and understanding of Aged Care reforms and regulations
* Support the State Manager in member management, member relationships, member administration, planning and strategic objectives and tasks
* Plan, coordinate and evaluate state events and activities (member and industry forums, networking sessions)
* Coordinate all financial, membership and relevant documents for the state office.
* Develop and strengthen all member relationships: potential, new and existing members
* Assist with revenue generation through member retention, increased membership, profit-generating activities and cost savings
* Actively participate in communications activities (CEO Update, Fusion articles, media requirements, COPs, ad hoc activities)
* Participate and/or coordinate advisory groups and/or internal committees
* Maintain accurate and up to date information on members and affiliates
* Assist with travel and accommodation arrangements
* Liaise with State Government offices regarding invitations, events and presentations
* Facilitate advice to members and referrals to other Ageing Australia services.
* Contribute to and collate information for monthly reports or other information as requested by the State Manager or General Manager for Member Relations
* Ensure effective note taking for state-based member meetings and state-based forums
* Behave consistently with Ageing Australia values when interacting with staff, Members and stakeholders
About you:
* Demonstrated experience in office administration/operational support with the ability to work unsupervised
* Office IT experience and comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products
* Knowledge and understanding of Aged Care sector operations, reforms and regulations and/or demonstrated experience working in the aged care industry.
* Confident communication style and ability to interact with members, affiliates, federal and state government representatives and industry bodies in a professional manner
* Ability to support the planning, delivery and evaluation of Member networking and training events.
* A qualification in Office Management, Marketing or Business Administration is desirable
* Strong work ethic and work history that would evidence commitment to Ageing Australia values and a genuine passion for aged care.
