LET’S EXPLORE THE ROLE As a NOC Operator, you’ll play a critical role in BAI Communications’ Service Management Centre, monitoring broadcast services across Australia in a 24/7 operational environment. You’ll respond to alarms, manage incidents and communicate with internal teams and customers to maintain service assurance and meet service level commitments. This role suits someone who enjoys working in a fast‑paced, technically focused environment, takes ownership of incidents end‑to‑end, and values clear communication and attention to detail when working on live services. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and triage alarms from multiple network and broadcast management systems Remotely resolve incidents impacting managed broadcast services where possible Analyse events and incidents to identify potential root causes Accurately record incident details, impacts and actions in service management systems Respond to operational queries via phone and email from internal teams and customers Manage incident communications, escalations and updates in line with OLAs and SLAs Support NOTAM lodgements, change requests, site access and service transfer activities Perform daily audits to maintain data quality and service assurance Support first‑level maintenance activities for transmission sites as required Maintain awareness of significant network events and broadcast‑specific fault scenarios Manage incidents through to resolution and provide clear, thorough shift handovers LET’S HEAR ABOUT YOU You’re a calm and reliable operator with a solid technical foundation and the ability to process large volumes of information in real time. You’re comfortable working rotating shifts and understand the importance of precision and accountability when supporting live broadcast services. You’ll bring experience in: Broadcast, telecommunications or network operations environments Monitoring and interpreting alarms from network or broadcast management systems Applying broadcast fundamentals, electronic theory and technical documentation during fault analysis Managing incidents and service requests within structured service management frameworks Producing clear, accurate written records and operational reports Communicating effectively with technical teams and customer stakeholders under pressure Using tools such as service management platforms, collaboration systems and monitoring software Additional requirements: Tertiary qualification in network, electronic or electrical engineering, or equivalent practical experience Exposure to ITIL‑aligned incident and change practices (certification advantageous) Willingness to work a 24/7 rotating roster Ability to complete a pre‑employment criminal history check If you’re looking to build or continue your career in broadcast and network operations, this is an opportunity to work on services relied on nationwide, every day.
