Open Source Enterprise Sales / Alliances
Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems to global enterprise and technology markets. This general track role focuses on revenue generation in a technology environment. We are hiring Enterprise Sales and Alliances Sales representatives to drive revenue growth.
Responsibilities
* Advancing deep understanding of Linux and cloud software ecosystem and open source selling models
* Negotiating contracts and commercial business terms
* Building and expanding strategic relationships with Go-to-Market partners, hardware vendors, software vendors, solutions integrators, distributors, and channels
* Owning the strategy and development of sales engagements
* Growing customers' awareness of open source capabilities on Canonical Ubuntu
* Delivering on targets and objectives and providing partner/customer voice
* Traveling domestically and internationally to drive partnerships in person
* Aligning and supporting internal field teams to identify, support, grow, and transact
* Working closely with Marketing, Sales Engineering, and Product Management to deliver on targets and provide partner/customer voice
* Leading executive interlocks between partners/customers and Canonical leadership
Qualifications
* Track record of exceeding revenue expectations in technology field
* Experience with Linux and open source
* Strong academic background and continuous learning
* Degree in a technical subject or compelling narrative of alternative path
* Confidence to communicate, give feedback and share ideas
* Leadership and commitment to mentorship
* Passion for technology evidenced by personal projects
* Strong work ethic and self‐motivation
* Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, accountability
* Appreciative of diversity and multicultural working environment
* Results‐oriented mindset and high personal drive
* Ability to travel internationally twice a year for events and more frequently for client meetings
