Heavy Duty Tyre Technician Role
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Tyre Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy mining equipment with a focus on CAT and Liebherr machinery.
This is a vital front-line role that ensures the safe and efficient maintenance of heavy equipment tyres on-site. Reporting to the Supervisor, you will contribute to the seamless operation of machinery, ensuring compliance with all safety standards, company policies, and operational procedures.
Duties:
* Tyre Maintenance and Repair: Inspect, repair, replace, and rotate tyres on mining equipment, including haul trucks, loaders, dozers, and other machinery.
* Tyre Inspection: Conduct thorough checks for tyre wear, damage, and pressure, addressing issues promptly to avoid equipment downtime.
* Tyre Operations: Operate tyre-changing and balancing machinery, including hydraulic and pneumatic tools.
* Workplace Organisation: Maintain the organisation and cleanliness of the tyre bay, ensuring tools and equipment are in good condition.
* Record Keeping: Record all work completed and maintain accurate logs of tyre inventory and usage.
* Safety Protocols: Adhere strictly to site safety procedures and protocols, including working within designated tyre bay areas.
* Support Services: Support the maintenance team with tyre-related needs, including breakdowns on-site.
Requirements:
* Experience: Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Tyre Technician in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
* Certification: Certificate II in Automotive Tyre Servicing Technology or equivalent.
* Technical Skills: Minimum 5+ years post certificate experience working large mining vehicles with preference on CAT and Liebherr.
* Licences: High Risk Work Licence - Forklift, Telehandler experience, Valid Manual Drivers licence (HR preferred).
* Personal Qualities: Strong commitment to workplace safety, ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
