Monaro Timber & Joinery is a second generation, family-owned business specialising in high-end, bespoke timber products. With a close-knit team of approximately 10, we pride ourselves on our craftsmanship and attention to detail, producing premium timber doors, benchtops, stair treads, stair components, and kitchen and bathroom joinery.

The Role

This role can be made family friendly for the right person. While it is advertised as full-time, it could be worked part-time (min 30 hours) Mon to Fri or full time.

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive person to coordinate our daily and weekly production schedules and support the smooth operation of our workshop.

This is a critical role in the engine room of the business — ensuring jobs are planned correctly, materials are ready, priorities are clear, and clients are kept informed.

In addition to scheduling, you will also assist with general administration tasks and internal admin projects to support the broader team.

Key Responsibilities

Scheduling & Planning – 50%

* Develop, maintain, and communicate daily and weekly production schedules to meet client delivery requirements.
* Ensure schedules align with sales orders, materials availability, and production capacity.
* Monitor workflow and adjust schedules as needed to optimise efficiency and minimise delays.
* Work closely with the Production Manager and detailing team to confirm readiness of drawings and specifications before release to production.
* Communicate job priorities and timelines clearly in daily stand-up meetings.
* Apply labour and materials costs to jobs, receipt incoming stock, and complete production paperwork.

Communication & Coordination – 15%

* Meet regularly with the Production Manager to review workload, supply issues, and client priorities.
* Liaise with sales, detailing, logistics and workshop staff to ensure information flows across the business.
* Provide updates to clients on job progress and advise early if delays arise.
* Maintain scheduling data accurately in Monday.com.

Materials & Resource Management – 15%

* Confirm material availability before scheduling jobs.
* Report shortages or overages in advance.
* Track resource usage against schedules to improve forecasting accuracy.
* Coordinate with suppliers where required to align delivery times with production needs.

General Administration & Projects – 10%

* Complete other general administration tasks required across the business.
* Support the Director with specific tasks and internal admin projects.

Continuous Improvement & Reporting – 10%

* Review scheduling processes regularly for efficiency and accuracy.
* Provide feedback on bottlenecks and capacity constraints.
* Generate weekly scheduling reports covering completed jobs, delayed jobs, and forecasts.

About You

Organisation: You are highly organised, detail-focused, and comfortable managing multiple moving parts at once.

Communication: You are able to communicate clearly with tradespeople, managers, suppliers and clients — calm, direct, and reliable.

Systems Mindset: You enjoy improving processes, tightening up systems, and making scheduling more efficient over time.

Experience: Experience in scheduling, production planning, manufacturing administration or a similar environment will be highly regarded.

Tech Confidence: You are comfortable working with digital tools such as Monday.com, spreadsheets, and job management systems.
