The spectacular InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach has opened following a multi-million-dollar transformation and set to redefine coastal luxury. Perfectly positioned on Sydney's iconic beachfront, the reimagined hotel offers 198 elegantly designed rooms and suites, many with uninterrupted ocean views, alongside an infinity pool, luxury cabanas, a vibrant leisure deck and of course world class dining including Rick Stein at Coogee Beach

At InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach we are looking for Pastry Chef de Partie to join our team.

Your day to day

* Assist the Executive Chef to achieve the optimum departmental profit by delivering to high standards expected by our guests, with creativity, passion and application of specialist skills.
* You will be responsible for producing a range of desserts menu items including cakes & pastries
* Exercise your knowledge of hygiene and safety and maintaining our high guest service standards.
* Daily preparation and production of all types of bakery items and desserts at a 5-star level, giving you exposure to luxury dining cookery.
* Work with the culinary team and support the Executive Chef with setting standards of all event & restaurant food and equipment purchases in accordance with IHG guidelines
* Oversee that outstanding pastry technical skills are maintained.
* You will be a motivated person with a positive attitude who has an interest to progress your culinary career, develop your skills within Pastry Kitchen.

What we need from you

* You must have full working rights in Australia (sponsorship is not available)
* At least 2 years previous experience specialising in pastry culinary in a hotel or luxury restaurant environment.
* Pastry Chef certification
* HACCP food safety system experience
* Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, enthusiasm to learn new things and above all, a can-do attitude
* Ability to stay organised and on top of your work at all times.
* Self-motivated and will perform your role with a sense of urgency.
* Creatively focused and have a genuine passion for creating exceptional cuisine.
* Able to work a rotating roster including, late evenings, weekends and public holidays
