About The Role
As the Link and Launch Coordinator you will:
* Oversee the ongoing delivery of the school-based Link and Launch program and engage with relevant agencies, business and industry partners and training organisations to maximise opportunities and secure pathways for Year 12 completers at risk of not successfully transitioning to work or further study.
* Establish and maintain effective networks and work collaboratively with universities, training organisations, employers and industry groups to build strong and vibrant links that promote post school pathways for young people in the two years post Year 12 to make a successful transition to education, training or employment.
Responsibilities Include
* Undertake the establishment of an outreach program to link with Year 12 completers who are not in study or employment, and provide information and available employment opportunities and practices, careers and courses relevant to their individual situation.
* Develop and maintain relationships with education and training providers, employers, and other key agencies, including setting up appointments, and following up to support the connection with the program.
* Actively engage with universities, training organisations, employers, industry groups, community organisations and other agencies to source study or work pathways and implement actions to assist young people to make a timely, meaningful and successful transition to education, training or employment.
* Provide practical assistance to young people to access required services to remove barriers to their engagement in education, training or employment, including transporting young people to appointments, assisting young people to access financial payments through Centrelink, etc.
* Develop engagement activities and market the benefits of Link and Launch for past students of the State High School/College.
* Maintain records of contact with young people, and provide the Principal/Deputy Principal and Link and Launch Director with a regular update of the program outcomes and identify issues that may impact on the success of the program.
* Undertake the development and coordination of high profile events within the school community and take a lead role in the development and implementation of promotional materials, including marketing and communication strategies and initiatives.
* Work directly with education institutions, government, industry, business and community groups to form productive partnerships and develop networks to give pathway choices to Year 12 completers.
* Develop and provide guidance for young people engaged in the program, including identifying increased opportunities at a local level for employment, monitoring young people in the workplace through their transitions, including arranging visits where required to assist young people to overcome barriers to their successful engagement in a meaningful pathway.
