A unique part time opportunity to drive WHS improvement in small fabrication business working in and around the beautiful Blue Mountains. This role is for an experienced WHS professional who enjoys being out on site in rugged and remote locations and is committed to developing and improving WHS systems and supporting staff to learn and develop their records and reporting skills. Hybrid working with flexibility to work from home and attend site/workplace as needed, with part time hours structured to suit your lifestyle.
Key duties include:
* Hazard reporting and identification
* Managing WHS documents for site based work and ensuring records are up to date
* Maintaining registers, undertaking site inspections and auditing
* Review and update policies and procedures
* Reviewing tenders and contract documents and providing WHS advice and support
* Developing site specific records and Safety Management Plans
* Delivering training and regular toolbox talks
* Inspecting plant, equipment and machinery for maintenance and updating/maintaining registers
About you:
Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents to be eligible for this position.
You are an experienced WHS professional with minimum qualification of Cert IV in WHS. Experience in construction or a trades based/workshop background would be advantageous as you will be require to inspect equipment and plant. You enjoy being outdoors in nature, and have no problems working on isolated sites in rugged terrain.
A minimum of 3-5 years of WHS professional experience is required for this role.
The site based component of this role can be physically demanding and requires a minimum level of fitness. A pre-employment medical may be required.
Candidates must possess moderate fitness levels to meet the physical demands of site-based work.
Applicants must have current Drivers Licence.
Initial contract 3 months, approximately 12-18 hours per week. Potential for extension or future permanent part-time role for the right candidate. Some travel required.
