Full‑time continuing contract at the Fremantle Campus.

About the school

The National School of Arts and Sciences is one of two National Schools in the Faculty of Arts, Sciences, Law and Business, based on two distinct campuses in Fremantle and Sydney. The School of Arts & Sciences delivers a practical, ethical and industry‑focused education in diverse areas of study such as liberal arts, communications, media, counselling, psychology, social work, and science, with a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs on offer.


About the role

As a Lecturer in Psychology, you will deliver courses across APAC‑accredited programs including the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Honours, and Master of Professional Psychology. These programs are accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) and provide a pathway to registration as a psychologist. Psychology courses are also available in the Applied Psychology Major in the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Science and for students in other disciplines such as Health Sciences.

In addition to teaching, you will contribute to scholarship and professional preparation within the School of Arts & Sciences. We seek an experienced psychologist who can make a strong impact through innovative teaching, scholarship and active engagement with the discipline and professional standards.


Key Responsibilities

* Deliver high‑quality teaching through lectures, tutorials, practical classes, workshops and clinical sessions across Psychology programs.
* Develop and coordinate subject material, including preparation of course content and assessment tasks.
* Supervise students developing their professional psychology skills and capstone projects.
* Contribute to the scholarship of the School and currency of curriculum, while engaging in relevant professional activities.
* Provide academic support through student consultation, marking and feedback, and participate in departmental meetings and committees.
* Undertake administrative duties related to teaching and comply with institutional policies, procedures and governance requirements.


Qualifications, skills & experience

* PhD in Psychology (or equivalent professional or clinical experience and standing).
* Proven ability to design, coordinate and deliver high‑quality teaching, informed by contemporary developments in psychology education.
* Board‑approved supervisor status from the Psychology Board of Australia, with experience in clinical supervision, is desirable.
* Capacity to supervise student research in Psychology effectively.
