The Opportunity
We are sourcing an APS5 Project Officer to support the Independent Advisory Council (IAC) Secretariat within the NDIA. The IAC provides critical advice to the NDIA Board, and this role helps the Secretariat deliver professional, reliable support to members and stakeholders.
This is an identified (special measures) position for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples. The role requires culturally safe approaches and an understanding of disability and intersectionality.
Contract term: ASAP start to 30 June 2026, with an extension option.
Hours: Full-time up to 37.5 hours per week (part-time may be considered for the right person).

Key responsibilities include
* Coordinate meetings end-to-end, including calendar invites, attendance tracking, and member support.
* Manage sitting fees administration, including checking information and maintaining accurate records in spreadsheets.
* Support procurement and contract tasks (venues, audiovisual), and assist with financial processing (invoices, purchase orders, monitoring PO spend).
* Provide logistics support, including travel and accommodation bookings and venue research.
* Draft clear updates and reports, and track advice and actions across the work program.

To be successful in this role, you will need
Essential
* Identify as a First Nations person (special measure).
* Understanding of cultural and disability needs, and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
* Strong admin and coordination capability, able to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
* Ability to write in plain English and build trusted working relationships.
Desirable
* Secretariat or government experience; qualifications in administration, accessibility, governance, or communications.
