A merit list or pool may be used for up to 18 months.This merit list or pool may be used to fill other vacancies in Canungra.For more information about Merit Lists or Merit Pools please go to APSC's website - The APS Merit PrincipleRole: Travel Administration OfficerWe are seeking a Travel Administration Officer to provide high quality administrative support within the Defence School of Intelligence (DSI).
In this role, you will coordinate domestic and international travel for the DSI Command Team, support staff, and visiting lecturers, and assist the Orderly Room with Conditions of Service travel.You will develop a working knowledge of Defence travel entitlements and policies to support the planning, booking, and finalisation of travel arrangements, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
The role also involves responding to travel related enquiries and contribute to general administrative tasks that support the broader business activities.About our TeamThe Defence School of Intelligence (DSI) delivers contemporary intelligence training to enable the Australian Defence Organisation in competition and conflict.
This includes training for personnel from the Army, Air Force and Navy services, civilian employees of the Department of Defence, selected personnel from New Zealand, the nations of the South Pacific region and the ASEAN states.The Orderly Room team is an integrated workforce made up of both Australian Defence Force (ADF) and Australian Public Service (APS) staff.
We provide administrative support and advice to everyone in the unit, including learners and staff.
You'll be joining a friendly, collaborative team that values problem-solving and great service.Our Ideal CandidateWe're looking for someone who brings solid administrative and coordination skills, enjoys working collaboratively, and can build effective relationships across a team environment.
You'll be organised, adaptable, and confident working independently to manage competing priorities.You'll ideally have experience in travel coordination, administration, customer service, or service delivery roles.
Familiarity with government or Defence environments is highly regarded, but not essential.
We value candidates who are quick to learn and bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.We're especially interested in someone who:Provides exceptional customer service and communicates clearly and professionally.Works independently and takes initiative to manage multiple tasks and priorities.Is comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, and learning new business systems.Has experience planning and coordinating tasks across multiple areas or activities.Demonstrates robust written and verbal communication skills.Contributes actively to team discussions, shares information, and supports team goals.Shows a commitment to public service values and ethical standards.Security Clearance:Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at "Negative Vetting Level 1".
