Wildlife Supervisor Job Summary
The role of a Wildlife Supervisor is to oversee the daily operations of a team responsible for animal care at a wildlife park. The successful candidate will be responsible for mentoring and evaluating the team, ensuring high standards of animal welfare and husbandry practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Team Leadership: supervise, train, schedule, and mentor wildlife keepers
* Safety and Compliance: ensure adherence to health and safety policies and procedures
* Customer Service: deliver high-quality talks, hands-on animal encounters, guided tours, and other experiences offered at the park
* Animal Care and Welfare: ensure high standards of daily care of animals by overseeing feeding, cleaning, and enrichment activities
* Habitat Maintenance: ensure maintenance and presentation of animal enclosures
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in wildlife care settings, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience. They will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as a strong understanding of animal husbandry practices, behavior management, and enrichment techniques.
