Reporting into the Engineering Production Manager, the new Fitter & Turner Technician will be based at our Notting Hill workshop in Victoria. You will play a key role in carrying out production, assembly, machining, service, testing, and technical support for engineered solutions products and equipment.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assemble and produce various mechanical and specialised engineered solutions products;
- Undertake the maintenance, repair, and testing of engineered solutions products;
- Read and interpret drawings, diagrams, bill of materials, and written instructions for assembly;
- Document and supply appropriate and accurate reports to customers of work conducted;
- Ensure all production and service work is conducted to required standard and in a timely manner;
- Preparing detailed test and quality documents for finished products;
- Communicate with Engineering Production Manager on work status, quality issues, and production improvements;
- Apply a compliance focused mindset across all operations, and;
The ideal candidate will be equipped with the following attributes:
- 2+ years’ exposure in a similar role;
- Formal qualification in Fitting & Turning, a similar maintenance trade discipline or equivalent experience;
- High mechanical aptitude including general machining, pneumatics, and fitting techniques;
- Comfortable and competent using hand and power tools and heavy-duty equipment;
- Well versed in utilising lathes, mills, drills, and similar equipment;
- Pipe bending and tube fitting experience (advantageous);
- Knowledge of technical documentation and drawings;
- Ability to perform arithmetic engineering calculations;
- Proficiency with various computer software, including Microsoft Office suite of applications;
- Current Drivers License;
- Adaptability and readiness to handle multiple, changing priorities in a fast-paced environment;
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn;
- Exemplary understanding of compliance rules and ability to act as a role model in upholding and promoting compliance standards, and;
- Excellent attention to details and problem solving, interpersonal, communication, organisational, and task management skills.
