South Launceston Early Learning is seeking a motivated childcare sous chef/kitchen hand.
Can you work with a team supporting a chef to deliver fresh healthy food to our children? Can you help with our junior master chef program in teaching our children the joy of fresh food?

An exciting opportunity has arisen at South Launceston Early Learning. We\'re looking for a motivated person who is willing to learn and give input, into all the running of a childcare kitchen with a can do attitude.
Located in South Launceston you will be working and reporting to the chef and you will be responsible for the following:
- Assisting the chef in food preparation and cooking to feed our 94 children and occasionally others.
- Assisting the delivery of our Junior Master Chef activities.
- Support and maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen including cleaning of dishes, utensils, surfaces and appliances.
- Support food storage procedures daily as per our food safety plan.
- General laundry work and general cleaning of kitchen related items.
- Grow to manage the kitchen at times in absence of the chef.
About You:
- Previous experience in commercial kitchens desirable but not essential (on the job training will be provided).
- Have valuable time management skills and be confident in managing the kitchen in absence of the chef.
- Hold or obtain a food safety supervisor certificate.
- Hold or obtain a working with children check.
- Have a good understanding of food allergies and intolerances.
- Be reliable, positive and well organised.
- Working with children check and appropriate paperwork.
