The Opportunity
Catholic Education South Australia is seeking an experienced Project Officer to join our Planning and Development team. This role provides leadership and support to schools to plan for ongoing development and facilities management of their sites, assets and infrastructure, and to implement capital improvement projects, including master planning, design development, approvals, procurement and contract management.
This is a full-time (1.0FTE), permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities Planning & Asset Management
Provides leadership, advice and support to schools and the Catholic Education Office in planning, maintaining, and managing grounds, buildings, and facilities, including preventive maintenance and repair solutions.
Capital Development Projects
Assists schools with site development, master planning, design, approvals, procurement, and contract management for capital improvement projects, ensuring compliance with industry and legislative requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Works closely with school leaders, architects, project managers, engineering and other such specialist consultants, contractors, and statutory bodies to guide projects, negotiate outcomes, and represent the CESA Planning & Development team in CESA committees and forums.
Professional Expertise & Ethos
Requires strong project management, design, risk management, and ICT skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects under pressure, while demonstrating commitment to the Catholic ethos and collaborative values.
About You
* Experienced Project Officer with expertise in facilities planning, capital development, and infrastructure management (within the education sector- advantageous).
* Skilled in guiding master planning, design, approvals, procurement, and contract management, while ensuring compliance with industry and legislative standards.
* Adept at collaborating with diverse stakeholders—including architects, consultants, contractors, and school leaders—to deliver safe, sustainable, and cost‑effective projects.
* Recognised for strong project management, problem‑solving, and ICT capabilities, combined with a commitment to the Catholic ethos and values of collaborative leadership.
